The Dallas Mavericks are navigating a challenging stretch, facing back-to-back road games against the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers without two of their key players.

Luka Doncic has been sidelined for four games due to a wrist strain, while Klay Thompson is battling plantar fascia issues.

Doncic is listed as doubtful for the Jazz game, and Thompson has been ruled out, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Despite these setbacks, head coach Jason Kidd has kept his team competitive, thanks to standout performances from Naji Marshall, Spencer Dinwiddie and Quentin Grimes.

The upcoming game against the Jazz carries extra significance. Two weeks ago, the Mavericks suffered a 115-113 loss in Salt Lake City, marking their fourth consecutive defeat and prompting an immediate team meeting.

Since that low point, the Mavs have transformed their performance, mounting an impressive 6-1 run and positioning themselves favorably for the NBA Cup knockout stage.

Dallas is gradually climbing back into form, buoyed by solid victories against the New Orleans Pelicans and Denver Nuggets.

However, offensive inconsistencies are evident, with Thompson shooting just 36.8 percent from 3-point range, Kyrie Irving struggling, and Doncic’s absence further complicating their scoring dynamics.

The pressure is mounting for the Mavericks to demonstrate resilience and adaptability.

With key players sidelined, role players must step up to maintain the team’s competitive edge.
