Charles Woodson is one of the select few members to be enshrined in both the Pro Football and College Football Hall of Fame.
He is the most recent defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy, having starred for Michigan in 1997.
His historic Heisman campaign has been much-discussed recently since the trend of offensive players winning the award could be in danger of ending this year, and former NFL head coach Jon Gruden recently compared one player’s stellar start to his career to that of Woodson’s.
Gruden had the honor of drafting Woodson out of Michigan with the fourth overall pick when he was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders in 1998.
He recently shared on X that “He could do everything on a football field. When I watch Travis Hunter, I see the same kind of clutch game changer.”

Hunter is making weekly headlines due to being a two-way star like Woodson, but few have ever shined on both sides of the ball like Hunter is for Colorado.
Hunter has 92 receptions for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns on offense.
He has a rushing touchdown, 31 tackles, and four interceptions on defense.
Woodson was a star when he stepped into the NFL and made the Pro Bowl in his first four seasons, including winning Defensive Rookie of the Year and making the first-team All-Pro three times.
It’s an honor for any player to be compared to a legend like Woodson, and Hunter has the ability to become the transcendent star Woodson was.
