At this point of the NFL season, with teams jockeying in earnest for playoff positioning, or simply a berth to begin with, players need to play through the pain of injuries they wouldn’t have earlier in the season.

By now, just about every player is likely nursing some kind of ailment and sucking it up for the good of their team.

The Denver Broncos are in position to claim a wild-card playoff spot in the AFC, something that seemed very unlikely if not impossible when the season started.

However, rookie quarterback Bo Nix has been dealing with a back injury, which could have put that playoff pursuit in jeopardy, but it looks like he will be ready to go for their Week 13 game against the Cleveland Browns.

“Broncos QB Bo Nix was a full participant in practice today, putting him on track to start Monday night vs. Cleveland,” ESPN insider Adam Schefter wrote on X.

Nix, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, struggled early this season with four interceptions and no touchdown passes in his first two NFL games.

But in his past five games, he has thrown 11 touchdown passes against just one interception.

Thanks to his growth, Denver has a 7-5 record, and if the regular season were to end today, the Broncos would be in the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season, when they won the Super Bowl.

The franchise has been in the wilderness since then with a carousel at the quarterback position, but in Nix, they may have found a player who will make them true contenders again, possibly as soon as this postseason.
