Amidst another frustrating season, the New York Giants decided to bench quarterback Daniel Jones, which ultimately led to the decision to release him and allow him to become a free agent.
There are a couple of teams rumored to be in the lead to land Jones, and earlier reports indicated that he would take his time when it came to choosing his next destination.
However, one NFL insider is reporting Jones may be focused on one particular team and that a decision could be imminent.
“A high-ranking league official told me they have the impression QB Daniel Jones has zereod on a ‘leading’ choice. While another high-ranking league source told me their understanding is Jones ‘is telling teams tomorrow,’” Josina Anderson wrote on X.

The teams that are reportedly high on Jones’ list are the Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens, and Anderson also mentioned the Las Vegas Raiders, who recently lost quarterback Gardner Minshew II to an injury.
However, Jones reportedly has crossed the Raiders off of his list.
“Sources: Despite interest from the Raiders, free agent QB Daniel Jones has eliminated Las Vegas from his consideration (contrary to other reports),” FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz wrote on X.

Jones, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has long been a disappointment, and the Giants finally pulled the plug after months of speculation that they wanted to move on from him.
There was talk that they would select a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft, but they instead went with wide receiver Malik Nabers as the No. 6 overall pick.
Jones’ future at this point is likely as an NFL backup, but perhaps there is a chance that beyond this season he could get one more shot at being a competent starter.
