Kelly Clarkson Files New Lawsuit In Legal Battle With Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock
Kelly Clarkson’s kids want her to be Miss Independent for as long as possible.
Although the “Breakaway” singer explained she’s “enjoying being single” for the time being, she also admitted that her kids River, 10, and Remington, 8—whom she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock—are not keen on her diving back into the dating scene.
“They constantly bring it up, ‘Please, we don’t want you with anybody else,’” Kelly said during a Nov. 15 appearance on KOST 103.5. “They’re young, it’s hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad.”
And while Kelly—who filed for divorce from Brandon in 2020 after seven years of marriage—noted that she is currently doing single “real well,” she expressed that she won’t be following her children’s wishes when it comes to her dating life.
As she put it, “I have expressed like, ‘Hey, I love you guys but Mommy needs lovings too.’”
Still, the Kelly Clarkson Show host emphasized that she is not looking for anything serious at the moment.
