Golf fans will have to wait a little while longer to see Tiger Woods tee it up again.
The 15-time major champion announced Monday that he would not be playing in the Hero World Challenge, a 20-person event he hosts in the Bahamas in December.
Woods, 48, last played in July’s Open Championship, where he missed the cut after shooting 14-over in the first two rounds.
He did not offer a reason for skipping the Hero, which runs from Dec. 5-8. In September, Woods said he’d undergone successful back surgery.
The field for the Bahamas event includes reigning champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Swedish phenom Ludvig Aberg and former U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark.
Woods added that Justin Thomas, Jason Day and Nick Dunlap would receive exemptions into the tournament to fill out the field.
