The Edmonton Oilers will have to wait a bit longer for the return of top-six wingers Zach Hyman and Viktor Arvidsson.

Head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed to reporters on Monday that both Hyman and Arvidsson are still five-to-eight days away from a return and have been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Utah Hockey Club and Saturday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche.

Per The Athletic‘s Daniel Nugent-Bowman, Knoblauch suspects the two forwards will travel on the team’s upcoming three-day road trip, which wraps up in Vegas next Tuesday, but isn’t certain.

Hyman left late in the second period last Tuesday and didn’t return after colliding with Ottawa Senators defenceman Nick Jensen while trying to remain onside.

Hyman, 32, is having a slow start to the season compared to his 54-goal season in 2023-24. In 20 games so far, he’s scored just three goals and registered five assists for eight points.

Meanwhile, fellow forward Arvidsson remains on injured reserve after missing the previous six games with an undisclosed injury.
