The New York Giants made a surprising move earlier in the week.
They abruptly cut quarterback Daniel Jones after six years as the team’s franchise quarterback, creating over $22 million in dead cap space next year in the process.
The next domino to fall is Jones signing with another team, which, according to a recent report, could happen sooner rather than later due to all the interest he has already been generating.
Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz shared on X that there has been “significant interest” in the new free-agent QB and that once he clears waivers, he expects the Baltimore Ravens, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, and Miami Dolphins to pursue Jones.

Schultz said Jones is reportedly looking to join a contender and land in a system where he can learn and grow.
A decision could come as early as the coming week.
Even though Jones flopped as a starter, it’s understandable why other teams would think they can get something out of him.
Jones may not have lived up to the hype as a starter, but he’d certainly be a capable backup and could potentially take the next step forward now that he is out of New York.
The Giants have been anything but stable over Jones’ tenure, and while he is certainly to blame for much of that, there is also a reason why the Giants made him the sixth overall pick and gave him a $160 million extension.
Perhaps in a different environment, Jones can take a step back and eventually take the next step, just as many other recent quarterbacks have done, such as Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold.
