Uncertainty looms over the San Francisco 49ers as quarterback Brock Purdy battles a right shoulder issue following their Week 11 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
The plot thickened when Purdy’s participation was limited in practice, notably absent from throwing drills, and his customary press conference was pushed off.
“No 49ers quarterback will speak today, which is when the starter usually speaks. That suggests the team doesn’t know who’s starting in Green Bay. The QB — whoever he is — will talk to reporters tomorrow,” Matt Barrows of The Athletic wrote on X.

The starting quarterback situation for the Week 12 clash against the Green Bay Packers remains shrouded in mystery.
Despite the growing concerns, head coach Kyle Shanahan offered a glimmer of hope.
“Kyle Shanahan said on KNBR that Brock Purdy had a very minimal practice today and is working on his rehab. ‘Hopefully, he’ll be feeling great on Sunday,’ he said,” Barrow wrote.

Should Purdy be sidelined, Brandon Allen appears poised to take the reins.
The team has maintained a tight lid on the specifics of Purdy’s injury, which only surfaced following the Seattle loss.
Curiously, Purdy showed no apparent signs of distress during that game, completing 21 of 28 passes for 159 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.
The third-year quarterback has been a constant presence for the 49ers this season, starting all 10 games while accumulating 2,613 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
However, his streak of consecutive starts hangs in the balance as the team heads into its final practice before traveling to Green Bay for a crucial NFC showdown.
