The Dallas Cowboys, who are reeling to the tune of a four-game losing streak, are taking on the Houston Texans at home on Monday.

With starting quarterback Dak Prescott now out for the season following surgery to repair a hamstring injury, they have their hands full trying to match the offensive production that C.J. Stroud, the Texans’ star QB, is capable of generating.

Micah Parsons, the Dallas star pass rusher, couldn’t help but praise Stroud by calling him possibly the best signal-caller in the NFL, per Jori Epstein.

“When he’s comfortable, I think he’s one of the best quarterbacks if not the best quarterback in the NFL,” said Parsons.

Stroud took the league by storm last season as a rookie and allowed the Texans, who had the league’s second-worst record in 2022, to overachieve and advance in the playoffs to the divisional round.

They came into Monday’s contest with a 6-4 record, which had them in first place in the AFC South, and while Stroud’s stats on the season aren’t super impressive, he’s still one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the land.

On Monday, Houston welcomed back wide receiver Nico Collins, who had missed their last five games with an injured hamstring.

In five games this season, Collins, who emerged as a star last season, put up 567 yards and three touchdowns on 32 catches.

With a somewhat manageable schedule the rest of the way, the Texans have an opportunity to establish themselves as a dark horse Super Bowl contender as fall turns into winter.
