The Thunder are exhausting all possible options to alleviate their injury problems.
The team did not announce the terms of the contract.
Carlson, 25, was signed by Toronto as an undrafted free agent this past off-season. The seven-footer played for the team during Summer League and pre-season, averaging 9.6 and 1.8 points, respectively.
In three starts with the 905, Carlson has averaged 14.3 points on 51.5 per cent from the field with 8.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 blocks.
Prior to entering the NBA, Carlson played five years at the University of Utah and averaged 17.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 50.1 per cent from the field and 37.9 per cent from three-point range in his fifth year. He’s the all-time leader in blocked shots at Utah.
The Thunder are currently dealing with a bevy of injuries to their centre spot, with their top-three options — Chet Holmgren (hip), Isaiah Hartenstein (hand) and Jaylin Williams (hamstring) — all out for the foreseeable future.
Despite their medical issues, the Thunder currently lead the Western Conference with an 11-2 rebounds and are in the midst of a three-game win streak.
