The Seattle Kraken may be without their captain for the remainder of Thursday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The team announced that forward Jordan Eberle is undergoing evaluation and unlikely to return to the game after he suffered a lower-body injury.
The injury happened early in the second period as Eberle was chasing a puck into the Blackhawks’ zone. He got tangled up with Blackhawks defender Connor Murphy, sending both of them hard into the end boards.
Eberle remained down on the ice for several seconds before leaving the ice with training staff.
In 16 games for the Kraken this season, Eblerle has scored six goals and 11 points, including one game-winner. The 34-year-old was named the second captain in franchise history, succeeding Mark Giordano, on Oct. 8.
