By this point of the NFL season, plenty of believable trends have emerged, and teams are already making plans for the offseason in terms of what they need to do to improve moving forward.
Plenty of people were excited about the Chicago Bears coming into this season, given that they drafted quarterback Caleb Williams No. 1 and added six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen and another blue-chip rookie in wideout Rome Odunze.
But they’re just 4-5 heading into Week 11, and they have a three-game losing streak.
Lots of attention has centered around Williams’ struggles, and while ESPN insider Adam Schefter said on “Get Up” that there have been discussions about benching Williams, Dan Orlovsky urged Chicago to coach him through his struggles.

Williams has thrown for 1,785 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions while completing just 60.5 percent of his pass attempts this season, and while he has had a few moments during which he has flashed his potential, by and large, he has struggled.
He clearly has plenty of natural talent, but he also clearly needs plenty of work.
As host Mike Greenberg alluded to, the Bears have a history of not being able to develop quarterbacks, including men such as Jay Cutler and Mitchell Trubisky, both of whom many had lots of hope for at one point.
While it may not be a terrible idea to temporarily bench Williams in order to allow him to catch his breath and reassess where he is, Chicago needs to stick with him and let him play through his struggles.
After all, not all great quarterbacks through the years have played great as rookies.
