Throughout his playing career in the NFL, superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn’t exactly seen eye-to-eye with many head coaches he’s played for, even Mike McCarthy, whom he won a Super Bowl title playing for with the Green Bay Packers.
It didn’t take long before Rodgers saw another head coach he plays for getting fired as the New York Jets parted ways with Robert Saleh a few weeks ago, with it becoming apparent he wasn’t the right man for the job.
With the team parting ways with Saleh, Jeff Ulbrich was named the interim head coach and given the massive task of trying to right the ship in New York, which hasn’t gone well thus far.
The Jets are now sitting at 3-7 coming into Week 11’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, and questions have started to emerge about what happens after this season, like whether Ulbrich should get serious consideration for the job.
Rodgers was recently asked about Ulbrich and seems to have given his interim head coach a vote of confidence, going as far as to say he’d love to play for him until the end of his storied career in the NFL via Jets Videos.
“I think ‘Brich is an NFL head coach, whether it’s here moving forward or down the line. He is a leader of men, and I’ll stand by him. I’d love to play for him until the end,” Rodgers said.

With so many big-name head coaches likely to be available during the NFL offseason, with Bill Belichick and Mike Vrabel at the top of the list, the Jets brass will probably opt for the splashy move rather than hold onto Ulbrich.
However, anything can happen from here on out, especially with the second half of the 2024 campaign potentially being rough for the storied franchise.
