Tyronn Lue has been a part of the NBA for many years and has worked with and played alongside some of the best players of all time.

So when he compares a current player to an icon of the league, people listen.

Speaking with Ohm Youngmisuk, via Legion Hoops, Lue commented on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“He reminds you a lot of the great likes [Michael] Jordan,” Lue said, surely earning a ton of love from Gilgeous-Alexander’s many fans.

Lue was talking about Gilgeous-Alexander after the Thunder beat the Los Angeles Clippers.

During that 134-128 victory, Gilgeous-Alexander put up amazing numbers.

He scored 45 points, 9 assists, and five steals, shooting 61.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from the three-point line.

No matter what they did, the Clippers just didn’t have an answer for Gilgeous-Alexander and couldn’t slow him down.

That’s not surprising at all because he has been spectacular all season, averaging 27.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists.

The Thunder are currently the best team in the West and Gilgeous-Alexander is their greatest player.

Lue is blown away by Gilgeous-Alexander but he’s not the only one and the entire league has taken note of what the young player is capable of.

He has been compared to multiple NBA greats, not just Jordan.

This season could be his best yet and Gilgeous-Alexander may be on his way to his first MVP trophy and, more importantly, perhaps his first title too.

Being compared to Jordan by anyone is special but hearing this from an NBA figure like Lue makes this praise even more noteworthy for Gilgeous-Alexander.
