As expected, the Portland Trail Blazers are not having an amazing NBA season.

Sadly, one of their most important players is floundering, making matters worse for them.

As noted by Evan Sidery on X, big man Deandre Ayton is averaging career lows in points, minutes, and scoring efficiency this season.

He is putting up 13.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, only 0.5 blocks, and playing for just 29.3 minutes per game.

With a true shooting percentage of 54.3, Ayton is definitely going through a very obvious rough patch.

The Trail Blazers currently hold a 3-8 record and have lost three games in a row.

While most people don’t expect them to be a playoff team this season, fans wanted to see Ayton show off.

This is his second season in Portland and just about all of his numbers have dropped.

For reference, his last season with the Phoenix Suns saw Ayton average 18.0 points per game.

When he came to the Blazers, Ayton was looking to start a new chapter in his career, improve his numbers, and prove that he could still make a big impact on his team.

He showed some glimpses of greatness last season and people thought he may continue to show up for Portland.

But things have gotten off to a bad start for the 26-year-old star.

Although Ayton isn’t playing well right now, there are still months left in the 2024-25 season and he can rebound and surge.

But because he isn’t getting as many minutes he has to make every single one of them count.

He has promised the NBA world that he’d show some “DominAyton” but, so far, he is just showing a lot of struggling.
