The Indianapolis Colts took a major risk when they selected Anthony Richardson with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Richardson was highly regarded coming into the league, as he presented a Lamar Jackson-esque upside.

The youngster shined in the early stages of the 2023 season, but he suffered a season-ending injury, limiting his potential impact during his rookie campaign.

He was expected to take a step forward coming into the 2024 season.

Richardson did look good at times, as many analysts have pointed out, but there are legitimate concerns about his work ethic and locker-room presence.

The Colts are currently benching him in favor of Joe Flacco, which has caused many to speculate about his future with the team.

Louis Riddick recently appeared on the “Dan Patrick Show,” where he talked about Richardson and what he’s seen from him thus far.

“He’s not done, but the Colts, you gotta look inward, that’s for sure,” Riddick said.

Riddick indicated that the Colts might be building a poor culture at the moment and that they haven’t given Richardson much of an opportunity to succeed.

The young quarterback hasn’t started many games throughout his career, and as a result, he hasn’t gotten much experience at the highest level

It might not be this year with the Colts, or even next year, but there is hope that Richardson can get his feet back under him and perform well.

If not, the Colts might have to look elsewhere at the position moving forward.
