Report: Marlins hire Dodgers 1B coach Clayton McCullough as new manager

The Miami Marlins will have a new voice in their dugout.

Los Angeles Dodgers first-base coach Clayton McCullough was hired as the NL East club’s new manager on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez.

The Marlins finished last in their division with a 62-100 record last season, prompting the firing of ex-manager Skip Schumaker after just two seasons.

Schumaker won NL Manager of the Year in 2023 after leading the Marlins to 84 wins and an appearance in the Wild Card Series.

McCullough, 44, spent the past four seasons on Dave Roberts’ Dodgers staff.

Now, he’s headed to Miami with a World Series ring on his finger after Los Angeles’ triumph over the New York Yankees in the Fall Classic.
