We’re being inundated with articles on what caused Democrats to lose the presidential election so badly. The fingers are being pointed at Joe Biden, the border, inflation and even Liz Cheney. The moderates blame the woke left and the progressives blame the Republican-lite moderates.

But there’s a common thread in these articles and it reminds me of a story my father told me about the U.S. Senator he worked for in the mid-1960s.
