The New York Giants, who are 2-7 and in last place in the NFC East, will face the Carolina Panthers in Germany.

This is looking like a lost season for New York, and plenty likely feel its best bet is to tank and improve its draft status so it can select a potential star, possibly at quarterback.

Things are looking even worse for the Giants as the game approaches, with one of their top offensive players not even making the trip overseas.

“Giants rule out WR Darius Slayton (concussion) for Sunday vs. the Panthers. He won’t travel to Germany,” NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo wrote on X.

This is the second concussion Slayton has suffered this season, although he didn’t miss any games due to his first.

He is third on the team with 32 receptions and second in receiving yards with 469, and New York will miss his ability to make plays.

Rookie wideout Malik Nabers has emerged as a legitimate playmaking threat for New York, and he has collected 55 catches for 557 yards and three touchdowns.

However, Nabers hasn’t been able to give quarterback Daniel Jones any type of boost.

Jones has thrown just eight touchdown passes and completed 63.8 percent of his pass attempts through eight games, and he hasn’t been as much of a threat on the ground as he was in prior seasons.

As of now, the Giants are in a seven-way tie for the NFL’s worst record, so they could be in position to draft a true upgrade over Jones.
