Although his rookie season with the Indianapolis Colts was cut short due to a season-ending injury, quarterback Anthony Richardson showed some promise that he might be the right man for the job for the foreseeable future.
Unfortunately, Richardson has shown more flaws than promise in his second campaign, which has resulted in getting benched by head coach Shane Steichen in favor of 39-year-old Joe Flacco, whom the coaching staff believes gives the Colts the best chance to win games the rest of the season.
Even though Richardson’s time with the Colts is heading in the wrong direction, as he’ll need to prove his worth and polish his game moving forward, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen recently praised the second-year pro.
“I’m a big fan of Anthony Richardson, and he has a lot of potential. Hopefully, he can learn from Joe Flacco and grow from this situation,” Allen said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

If Richardson can get his NFL career back on track, his ceiling might be what Allen has become with the Bills, which is a legitimate superstar and a perennial candidate for MVP.
However, Richardson has a long way to go before getting any legitimate comparisons to Allen, especially when it comes to his passing ability, so only time will tell if he’s able to get there or anywhere close.
