The Golden State Warriors lost one of the greatest shooters of all time in the offseason.
It only made sense that they went after a suitable replacement.
That’s why they didn’t hesitate to pick up the phone and go after Buddy Hield – one of the game’s most efficient volume three-point shooters.
Hield has been spectacular since he arrived in the Bay area, and he should be one of the leading – if not the leading – candidates to win Sixth Man of the Year this season.
With that in mind, his new coach, Steve Kerr, tipped his hat to him and praised him for the positive impact he’s made on the team – on and off the court (via 95.7 The Game):
“For most players in the league, fit is everything and this is a great fit in our system,” said Kerr. “He’s perfect for what we needed. He’s bringing joy to the gym every single day. Everyone loves Buddy.”

Hield is a proven veteran who’s already been a part of multiple organizations.
Some thought he’d be something like a lite James Harden, and while that was obviously not the case, he’s still one of the most efficient sharpshooters in the game.
Despite coming off the bench, he’s posting the best numbers of his career, averaging 21.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals, and 4.7 three-pointers per game on 51.4/50/85.7 shooting splits and a 67.1% effective field goal percentage.
He’s been a perfect fit for the Warriors’ free-flowing offense, and even when Stephen Curry was out, he still found himself wide open from beyond the arc more often than not.
Sometimes, it’s all about finding the right place for you, and Hield has found himself at home with Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors.
