The Charlotte Hornets currently have a 2-4 record but are eager to play well all season and finally return to the NBA playoffs.

They know they have a strong core of promising players but will tweak things if they have to.

On Monday, Evan Sidery reported that Charlotte’s Vasilije Micic is “a name to monitor on the trade market over the next few months.”

“Micic desires a bigger role, but the Hornets are now unable to provide it with the emergence of Tre Mann,” Sidery wrote, adding that he could join another team that needs extra help in the guard position.

This is Micic’s second season with the Hornets and he is averaging 2.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists during three games.

That is a large drop from last season when he averaged 10.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 6.2 assists over 30 games.

As noted by Sidery, Micic’s diminishing numbers come as the team finds new levels of success from Tre Mann.

Mann is also in his second year with the Hornets but his output has exploded at the start of the season.

He is putting up 19.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game and has started in all six games.

It is obvious that the Hornets don’t have a consistent place for Micic, which could lead to them making moves to send him away.

Losing Micic may not be the only change the Hornets make.

Their new leadership has made it clear that are committed to winning as soon as possible and will try hard to continually improve the team.

Micic could be one of multiple players sent away during the 2024-25 season.
