The Jacksonville Jaguars’ disappointing season has taken another interesting turn as running back Tank Bigsby has begun to overshadow longtime starter Travis Etienne.
The shift became noticeable over the past four weeks, with Etienne’s role diminishing to just nine carries in Weeks 5 and 6 before a hamstring injury sidelined him.
At 2-6 and trailing the Houston Texans in the AFC South, the Jaguars appear to be entering rebuild mode.
Their recent trade of left tackle Cam Robinson to the Minnesota Vikings might be just the beginning, as one NFL insider sees Etienne as another potential trade piece.
“I think you could get a third-round pick from the right team. I just have a hard time figuring out what the right team is,” Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports said.

Bigsby’s physical running style has injected new energy into the offense, something Etienne hasn’t quite matched despite his career productivity.
While Etienne remains talented, his impact on the team’s overall performance has been less transformative than hoped.
Several teams could emerge as potential suitors if Etienne becomes available.
The Dallas Cowboys, currently struggling with the NFL’s worst rushing attack at just 72.0 yards per game, stand out as an obvious candidate.
Their current rotation of Rico Dowdle, Ezekiel Elliott, and Dalvin Cook has failed to produce, leaving them in desperate need of a true lead back.
The Kansas City Chiefs might also show interest, as they look to reduce Kareem Hunt’s workload while Isiah Pacheco recovers from injury.
