The Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 season has been turbulent, to say the least, with their 3-4 record painting a concerning picture.
Facing one of the NFL’s most demanding schedules, their playoff aspirations grow more challenging by the week.
Their rushing woes stand out, as they rank last in the league with 519 total rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
Adding to these concerns is the situation surrounding running back Ezekiel Elliott, who will not play in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons due to disciplinary reasons.
The Cowboys have responded by elevating veteran Dalvin Cook from the practice squad, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

Cook’s debut for Dallas against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8 showed limited production, with six carries yielding 12 yards and one reception gaining 10 yards.
After Rico Dowdle missed that game with an illness, he is expected to reclaim his starting role in Week 9.
Cook will serve as the primary backup, with Deuce Vaughn also available.
The impact of Dowdle’s absence was evident, as the Cowboys managed a mere 56 yards in total rushing offense against the 49ers.
