The New York Jets are in dire need of wins after losing to the New England Patriots on Sunday, and with a 2-6 record, they’re in grave danger of falling out of the race for a playoff spot.

The good news for them is that they can play out their frustrations soon, as their next game is on Thursday against the short-handed Houston Texans.

Rodgers admitted that while it is helpful mentally to play on a Thursday — if his team wins — it is tough on the body.

The Jets have many problems right now, starting with Rodgers, who simply isn’t the star he used to be just three or four years ago, especially after tearing his Achilles on his first offensive series with the team in Week 1 last season.

Their defense, which was supposed to be one of the NFL’s best, has holes in it, their running game is anemic and wide receiver Davante Adams, who was supposed to give them a boost when he arrived in a recent trade, hasn’t made a big impact.

Rodgers has completed just 61.6 percent of his passes and thrown for 1,896 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions through eight games.

The good news for New York is that their schedule may be relatively manageable the rest of the way, as they have just two games against teams that are currently over .500 the rest of the way.

However, New York hasn’t exactly given their fans much confidence that they can win games against teams that are inferior to them on paper.
