After an extremely long drought, the New York Knicks are back as legitimate championship contenders, and the Tri-state area is hyped about it.

While they got routed on opening night by the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics, they responded with a blowout win of their own over the Indiana Pacers, the team that knocked them out in Game 7 of last season’s Eastern Conference semifinals.

The biggest acquisition New York made during the offseason was that of Karl-Anthony Towns, the four-time All-Star they got from the Minnesota Timberwolves in a stunning trade.

Knicks fans are now dreaming of somehow landing Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves’ electrifying superstar, but he said he wouldn’t want to join the Knicks because he doesn’t want to get booed on off nights, per NBACentral.

Edwards is one of the best and most exciting players in the NBA, not to mention one of the most confident ones.

He stated recently that he will become the best basketball player in the world within a few short years.

However, it is extremely difficult to see the Timberwolves trading him any time soon, especially since he agreed to a huge contract extension just a year ago.

They got to the Western Conference Finals last season and took back Julius Randle, a three-time All-Star big man, and 3-and-D wing Donte DiVincenzo in the Towns trade, so they’re hoping to stay very competitive this year.

Minnesota is 2-1 to start the season, and both Edwards and Randle are playing well, so New York fans should put their dreams of landing the former No. 1 overall pick to rest.
