The NBA season is just starting, but one thing’s for sure: Three-point shooting will continue to be key.
That’s why having a prime sharpshooter is of the utmost importance for every team.
Notably, the Charlotte Hornets have the best in the league right now.
LaMelo Ball currently has the most 3-pointers in the league (13), one more than Buddy Hield of the Golden State Warriors, according to Basketball Reference, via Legion Hoops.

It shouldn’t be much of a surprise to see that Ball is leading one of the offensive statistics, but he’s never been the most consistent 3-point shooter in the game.
He’s a career 37.6 percent shooter from distance, but he’s currently knocking them down at a 50.0 percent clip.
Ball’s talents have never been doubted, but his availability and focus have been concerns at times.
He’s played more than 51 games once in his career, and whether the Hornets have success will most likely depend on his development.
It’s still very early in the season, but the Hornets showed a lot of heart in their season opener, coming back to defeat the Houston Rockets.
Charlotte also was quite close to defeating the Atlanta Hawks in its second game, with Ball thriving again.
Through two games, Ball is averaging 34.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 6.5 3-pointers, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.
Whether that’s sustainable remains to be seen, but the game is always better when the most talented players are out there, and it’s nice to see Ball healthy and thriving.
