The Baltimore Ravens got off to a rough start to the 2024 NFL regular season, with John Harbaugh’s squad losing consecutive games to the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders right out of the gate.

Initially, the Ravens looked like a different team compared to the squad that dominated the competition throughout the 2023 campaign, but that quickly changed in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys on the road at AT&T Stadium.

The first two losses to start the season seemed like an indication of where the team was, but after losing to the Raiders in Week 2, Baltimore has won five straight games against formidable opponents.

Baltimore has beaten the Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in consecutive games and seems to be getting better with each passing week.

One of the reasons for the team’s success has been the play of superstar running back Derrick Henry, who has been better than expected during his first year with the Ravens, with former NFL head coach Jason Garrett pointing out how he could become this season’s NFL MVP on The Dan Patrick Show.

“Just keep handing him the ball. He’s ridiculous, isn’t he?” Garrett said.

Heading into Week 8’s divisional showdown against the lowly Cleveland Browns, Henry is arguably the best running back in the league, as he has rushed for a league-leading 873 yards and is tied with Kyren Williams of the Los Angeles Rams for the most touchdowns with 10, which includes two receiving.

If Henry keeps up this kind of insane production, he’ll be in the MVP conversation and might be the favorite down the line.
