The San Francisco 49ers are in an odd spot right now.

They are sitting at a record of 3-4 and dealing with a ton of injuries.

Star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL and MCL last week and is now out for the year.

The team is also still waiting for the return of All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, whom insider Ian Rapoport gave an update on while appearing on Good Morning Football today.

“Christian McCaffrey should start practicing, and there’s a very good chance that McCaffrey is on the field November 10th,” Rapoport stated.

That is very big news.

If San Francisco can handle business against a desperate Cowboys team this weekend on Sunday Night Football, they can recover during the bye week and get McCaffrey back afterward.

When healthy and at his best, the former Stanford star is arguably the best non-quarterback in the NFL.

At 28, McCaffrey has rushed for over 1,000 yards three times, recorded over 1,000 scrimmage yards five times, and he has recorded over 2,000 scrimmage yards twice.

He had his best season as a pro last year in terms of rushing yards (1,459) and total touchdowns (21).

The former Offensive Player of the Year can impact the game in so many ways whether that is on the ground or through the air.

With him back in the fold, the 49ers are simply a different and much more dangerous offensive unit.

Time will tell if Rapoport’s timeline matches up with what McCaffrey and head coach Kyle Shanahan are thinking from their perspective.
