The Golden State Warriors have been credited with creating the 3-point era in the NBA, as they were able to put together a dynasty built around Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, arguably the best shooting backcourt in league history.
As a result of figuring out how to dominate the competition with 3-pointers, the Warriors have won four NBA titles in this new era of basketball while seeing Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green turn into likely Hall of Famers.
Although the Warriors have been the most successful team during this era, the rest of the league has caught up to them, with Golden State now headlined by aging superstars and Thompson leaving the team this offseason.
With the Warriors now struggling to keep up in the Western Conference, the team is going to need to lean on what made the franchise so successful in the first place, with general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. recently making that abundantly clear.
“We want to get good 3s. We want to get 3s where it’s inside-out, in transition, those types of open looks that will also open up the floor for other things,” Dunleavy said, via SiriusXM NBA Radio. “… That’s basically what it’s gonna be offensively for us.”

Despite the Warriors’ best efforts to bring in another star, as they were hoping to land Paul George or Lauri Markkanen this offseason, they were unable to do so, leaving them to go forward into the 2024-25 season as a fringe playoff contender in the West.
