The Carolina Panthers made a big decision regarding their starting quarterback for their Week 8 game against the Denver Broncos.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, second-year QB Bryce Young will return to the starting lineup.

Veteran Andy Dalton is nursing a sprained thumb he suffered in a recent car accident.

There is no doubt that Dalton’s injury came from a scary situation, but it does open the door for Young to try to win back the hearts of Panthers fans.

In his rookie season in Carolina as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Young threw 11 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.

This season, he has thrown three interceptions and no touchdowns, which is why he was benched in favor of Dalton after starting two games.

Now, Young is back as the starter and has an opportunity to prove to the coaching staff and his teammates that he can be the franchise quarterback.

Unfortunately for him, he will be facing a very stingy and tough Broncos defense that dominated the New Orleans Saints on the road in Week 7.

Young is going to have to utilize the weapons around him, like running back Chuba Hubbard, wide receiver Diontae Johnson and rookie pass-catcher Xavier Legette.

Making the easy throws and not giving the ball to the other team would be two points of emphasis for him.

If Carolina loses, it at least will continue to move into position for a better draft pick, which has been the norm the past few seasons.
