The NBA just witnessed history.

LeBron James and his firstborn son, Bronny, became the first father-son duo to play in the same game, making yet another testament to LeBron’s longevity and work ethic.

Granted, plenty of people will talk about how this moment didn’t happen organically and how it all seemed like a big PR stunt from the start, but history is history, and if someone deserved that kind of honor, it was LeBron James.

With four minutes left in the first half and the Lakers up against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Bronny and LeBron reached out to the scorer’s table and entered the court together, sending the crowd at Crypto.com Arena into a frenzy.

Following the win, the legendary forward talked about how emotional and happy he was for this moment (via Spectrum SportsNet).

First, he admitted that he was eager to get his first win on opening night as a Laker.

Then, he talked about how he would never forget that moment with his son regardless of how old he got or how much his memory started to fade.

Bronny was on the floor for three minutes, missing his two shots and grabbing one rebound.

He’s likely to spend most of his time in the G-League to work on his game.

As for LeBron, he had a rather modest game by his standards, with just 16 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, but the Lakers didn’t need him to cruise past the Timberwolves with an inspired Anthony Davis.
