After losing to the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game last season, the Baltimore Ravens headed into the NFL offseason knowing that some changes needed to be made in order to be a legitimate threat in the postseason.

Unfortunately, John Harbaugh’s squad got off to a rough start, as they lost the rematch against the Chiefs in the season opener and then shockingly were beaten by the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2, making some believe the Ravens might be headed in the wrong direction.

However, the consecutive losses to start the 2024 campaign have seemingly been forgotten, with the Ravens now making a case for being the best team in the league after five straight wins against the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

One of the main reasons for the team’s success this season has been the addition of superstar running back Derrick Henry, who has seemingly turned back the clock and reclaimed his status as one of the elite backs in the NFL.

Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports believes that Henry is the best non-quarterback closer in the league via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

“Derrick Henry had a very choppy start to his career. … Since then, he’s become the best closer in the NFL, not at quarterback,” Cowherd said.

No one knew what to expect from Henry after he left the Tennessee Titans this past offseason, as some wondered if he was done as a star running back in the NFL, but he’s proven otherwise and is a big reason why the Ravens are in title contention once again this season.

In seven games thus far, Henry has rushed for 873 yards and eight touchdowns while also catching two receiving touchdowns.
