The Kansas City Chiefs continue to dominate the NFL, remaining the league’s sole unbeaten team after a convincing 28-18 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
This Super Bowl LVIII rematch showcased the Chiefs’ versatility and resilience, as they overcame early challenges to secure their sixth straight win.
Patrick Mahomes, known for his aerial prowess, had an uncharacteristic day through the air.
Completing 16 of 27 passes for a modest 154 yards, he also threw two interceptions.
But the star quarterback proved his mettle by making crucial plays with his legs when it mattered most.
The real story of the game, however, was the Chiefs’ defense. They put on a spectacular show, snagging three interceptions – a feat the team hasn’t achieved since Week 4 of 2020.
This defensive masterclass left former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin Jr. impressed, suggesting that it’s the Chiefs’ defense, not their Mahomes-led offense, that makes them the NFL’s top team.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in the NFL and positioned to 3 peat for the first time in NFL History because of their Defense. The D is carrying them and allowing Patrick Mahomes to throw for 154 yards with 2 ints and STILL WIN

The 49ers’ offense struggled against Kansas City’s stifling defense.
Quarterback Brock Purdy had one of the worst outings of his career, completing just 17 of 31 passes for 212 yards and throwing three interceptions.
The 49ers’ usually potent ground game was also contained, managing only 101 rushing yards – their lowest of the 2024 season.
With the Minnesota Vikings’ recent loss, the Chiefs now stand alone atop the NFL with their perfect record.
This impressive start marks their third-longest undefeated run since 2000 and sets a new benchmark for the Mahomes-Andy Reid era.
