The upcoming NBA season is going to be very important for Bones Hyland of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Not only does he want his team to win, but the young star also wants to be very appealing to other franchises.

That is because, as reported by Chris Haynes, the Clippers and Hyland will not reach terms on a rookie-scale extension and he will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

This means Hyland has a good chance of being on the move next summer and wants to do all he can to appeal to other teams.

Hyland came to the Clippers after starting his NBA career with the Denver Nuggets.

He posted an average of 10.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while playing in Denver and some people thought his output would reach brand-new heights when in Los Angeles.

But he has actually done less with the Clippers and has received fewer minutes on the floor and fewer starting opportunities.

It seems the Clippers aren’t sure what they want from Hyland, but another team might find the right path forward for him.

At the same time, 2024-25 could be a turning point for the relationship between Hyland and the team.

He could play very well, get more time during games, and earn his spot on the roster.

When next summer comes around, the Clippers might fight to keep Hyland around.

This may be a very interesting season for the Clippers because they could be without Kawhi Leonard for a while, they no longer have Paul George or Russell Westbrook, and the Western Conference won’t go easy on them.

There are many questions looming over their heads and now there is another: what will happen with Hyland?
