The Phoenix Suns have been one of the most disappointing teams in the league over the past few seasons compared to their preseason expectations.

They’ve built a rock-solid roster filled with superstars, but for whatever reason, this team hasn’t been able to win the NBA Finals.

A combination of Devin Booker and Kevin Durant should, on paper, bring them a championship, but they haven’t been able to unlock the winning formula to make that happen.

Despite a lack of NBA Finals wins, the Suns remain confident in themselves and their ability to compete every year.

Durant was recently asked about what NFL team the Suns can be compared to on the Up & Adams Show.

“I would say the Chiefs… Cause we bringing that championship mentality,” Durant said.

Durant is referring to the Kansas City Chiefs, the most successful team in the NFL over the past five seasons.

They’ve won three of the past five Super Bowls, a dynastic run similar to what Tom Brady was able to accomplish with the New England Patriots.

Durant could have been being factious, but if it’s true, this is a bold assertion.

The Chiefs are dominant and are routinely seen as the team to beat in the NFL.

The Suns look dominant at times, but until they win the whole thing, they will likely be seen as a team that can get very close to the end only to fall short of their goals and aspirations.

Will the 2024-2025 season yield different results than prior years?
