The Cincinnati Bengals are trying to climb out of their 1-4 hole that they got themselves into early on in the season here.
That hole that they got themselves into had little to do with the performance of quarterback Joe Burrow.
One of the truly odd stats of this season so far is the fact that although the Bengals are 2-4, Joe Burrow leads the league in passer rating (110.3).
According to Savage Sports (via ESPN), Patrick Mahomes, who has guided the Kansas City Chiefs to an undefeated record so far, is 19th in passer rating (88.9).
This is insane actually.
Joe Burrow leads the NFL in passer rating for the 2-4 Bengals.
Meanwhile,
Patrick Mahomes is 19th in passer rating for the 5-0 Chiefs.

Through six games, Burrow has thrown 12 touchdowns and just two interceptions.
Burrow’s last interception came in the team’s latest loss a couple of weeks ago to the Baltimore Ravens.
In that game, he threw for nearly 400 yards and five touchdown passes.
The Bengals face the 1-5 Cleveland Browns this week, an inconsistent Philadelphia Eagles team next week, and then a Davante Adams-less Las Vegas Raiders team after that.
If the Bengals could find a way to get a couple of wins here, they are going to have a chance to contend for a playoff spot later on in the season.
Look for Burrow to continue his excellent play as he looks to give his team a chance to win each and every week.
