Shedeur Sanders is making waves in college football, garnering attention for his impressive skills on the field.

Though the Colorado star may not be the flashiest athlete, Sanders excels in the fundamentals, positioning himself as one of the most elusive quarterbacks not just in his conference but across the nation.

This has led many to speculate about his NFL potential, particularly if paired with a strong offensive line.

Media personalities have been quick to label Sanders as a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, with FOX sports host Colin Cowherd recently joining the chorus of praise.

“I watched Shedeur Sanders and I think it’s pretty obvious that’s the No.1 pick,” Cowherd said on “The Herd.”

Though he received some pushback from FOX college football analyst Joel Klatt, Cowherd’s assessment aligns with the growing consensus on Sanders’ abilities.

His arm strength, accuracy, elusiveness and pocket presence are qualities that typically translate well to the professional level.

Cowherd also drew comparisons to established NFL stars.

“[Patrick] Mahomes and Shedeur Sanders are the same size. They play big. … I think Shedeur Sanders is easily the best quarterback in college. I think he’s separated,” he said.

Sanders’ performance backs up these claims. He earned an impressive 93.2 passing grade from a clean pocket last season, according to PFF, ranking third nationally behind Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Sanders to see if he can maintain his momentum and solidify his status as the top prospect in the upcoming draft.
