It’s officially starting to feel like fall here in Indiana and we’re slowly but surely transitioning our wardrobes with the season. And with a new season, comes new trends in the fashion world! Full disclosure: even as a fashion blog, we can be hesitant to hop aboard the latest style trends. We get it. Trying new things can be scary and no, I still don’t feel cool enough to wear leopard pants or barrel jeans. A girl can dream, right? 😉 Never fear! We won’t be giving up our skinny jeans and riding boots anytime soon but we are dipping our toes into a few of the latest trends for fall – with a little help from Nordstrom, that is!

As you already know, the LIY Team has been shopping and loving Nordstrom for years! Between their ever-changing, trendy new arrivals to their fast free shipping [and returns!] and stellar customer service, it’s no secret we’re Nordy girls at heart! Today, we’re sharing 7 Style Trends to Try this Fall – all from Nordstrom.

Sweater [True to size, wearing small] // Corduroy Pants // Sneakers

Yes, cords are back friends – whether you like it or not, they are here to stay [at least for a season ;)] While they may be giving you some flashbacks to middle or high school, I’m kinda diggin’ the trend again! Another favorite way to bring it into your wardrobe [in smaller doses] skirts! However you corduroy, you’re bound to make a trendy statement this fall and winter!

Parachute Cotton Cargo Pants [size down one, wearing small] // Birks [true to size]

Anyone getting parachute pant flashbacks? Same girl, same. Keep calm and cargo on, my friends. This trend isn’t going anywhere and they’re so comfortable, you might even forget you’re wearing pants at all! 😉 We styled them with sandals for warmer weather, but you can swap out the slides for sneakers once the temps cool off! As the kids say these days: “Slay”!

Jeans [size down if in between, wearing 29] // Flats [True to size] // Sweater [size down if in between]

If you’re not already on the wide leg wagon, hop on girlfriend! Trust us, your legs are going to love a little wiggle room and space to breathe – you may never go back to skinnies again! We love the fun carpenter details on this pair. Bonus: they’re on sale right now! Size down if in between as they run a little oversized.

Cardigan [true to size, wearing in XS] // Tank [true to size, wearing in XS] // Jeans [size down if in between] // Heels // Necklaces

Red is the new black! Bright pops of color are everywhere this fall [see these flats for more inspo] and we’re here for it. We love that you can take this cardi from fall into the holiday season and beyond! Don’t be afraid to take a walk on the wild side and pair with animal print. That’s right, leopard is back too! Me-ow!

Bow Loafers [true to size]

Oversized Bow Sweater [true to size, wearing in large]

The most darling trend of the season; bows. Make the sweetest statement with these feminine details!

Mango Mixed Media TwoFer Top [true to size, wearing in medium] // AG Farrah Distressed High Waist Raw Step Hem Bootcut Jeans [true to size] // Steve Madden Lorraine Bit Loafers [true to size]

I am *SO* into the two-fer trend this season [as in, it looks like two tops but it’s really just one]!

Oversized Tee [runs big, size down if in between] // Leggings [True to size]

Okay okay, we know brown isn’t really a breakthrough color for fall, but it’s really having it’s moment right now! From sneakers to loungewear sets, it’s everywhere this year and we’re loving every milk chocolate minute of it! Speaking of chocolate, I’m off to find a piece for an afternoon pick-me-up. Happy shopping, friends!
