Quarterback play throughout the NFL has been up and down this season as so many teams got off to slow starts with their passing games but have picked up the pace in recent weeks now that they have had time to settle in.

One of the many young quarterbacks around the league has caught Tony Romo’s eye and the former Cowboys star spoke highly of him on Sunday morning.

Romo spoke Sunday morning prior to his broadcasting work about how he has been incredibly impressed with Washington Commanders No. 2 pick Jayden Daniels so far this season and said, “What hasn’t impressed me? I really think he has all the tools.”

Romo added, “He’s showing me poise in the pocket…Instinctful act to run, when to hold it and he’s creating big plays. He’s creating first downs. There’s almost never a rookie who’s best in the league on third and long. Through five weeks, he’s leading the NFL on third and 7+, and that’s really where you see the separators from the top quarterbacks.”

You can’t say enough great things about the start Daniels has had, as he leads the league in completion percentage and has his team on a 4-game winning streak and sitting atop the NFC East.

Daniels faces his toughest test on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in a battle of the league’s two highest-scoring teams through five weeks.

Commanders fans have themselves a good one, and there are few things more exciting than landing a new potential franchise QB.
