The Oklahoma City Thunder have the look of a team ready to take the next step heading into the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.

The Thunder made it to the Western Conference semifinals in the 2024 NBA Playoffs but got bounced out by the Dallas Mavericks in an entertaining series.

While Oklahoma City must have been disappointed to be sent home early, the team did an excellent job in the offseason to shore up its roster.

The Thunder traded for Alex Caruso to strengthen their backcourt and signed veteran center Isaiah Hartenstein to give themselves a formidable frontcourt.

As the regular season gets closer, Oklahoma City seems set from a roster standpoint, but there are always players worth taking a gamble on.

With that in mind, the team announced they signed big man Chase Jeter, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but Jeter likely signed an Exhibition 10 deal with the Thunder.

That will allow Jeter to practice and play with the team during the preseason, but he likely will be waived and land on their G League affiliate team, the Oklahoma City Blue.

Jeter played four years in college at Duke and Arizona and wasn’t selected in the 2020 NBA Draft.

He spent the past couple of seasons playing overseas but now will get a chance to earn a spot in the G League and potentially the NBA.

It’s a minor transaction, but one that could return some positive outcomes if Jeter’s development goes well.
