With a 2-3 record, the Las Vegas Raiders have been up and down a bit, as they defeated the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, only to lose to the Carolina Panthers the following week and the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
They will face the 3-2 Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend, which will give them an opportunity to improve to .500 against a team that has issues on offense.
However, the Raiders will be without one of their defensive stars, as defensive tackle Christian Wilkins will be out indefinitely after he underwent surgery to address a Jones fracture he sustained versus Denver, per Ian Rapoport.

Wilkins, Las Vegas’ big-money free agent acquisition, being out is a crushing blow in the middle of that defense. He’ll head to IR. pic.twitter.com/LdcTti9mqG

Through five games this season, Wilkins has 17 tackles (11 solo), six quarterback hits and 2.0 sacks.
The Raiders signed him to a four-year, $110 million contract during the offseason after he posted career highs in sacks and QB hits last year as a member of the Miami Dolphins.
They have some real problems at the quarterback position, where Gardner Minshew II has been underwhelming, which means they need to lean in on defense, especially considering that star wide receiver Davante Adams asked to be traded last week.
However, they rank just 23rd in rushing yards allowed, 27th in yards per carry allowed and 28th in points given up through five games this year.
On the other hand, star defensive end Maxx Crosby has 5.0 sacks so far this year in four games, and he had 2.0 sacks on Sunday in Las Vegas’ 34-18 loss to the Broncos.
After this weekend, Las Vegas will visit the Los Angeles Rams before hosting the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 27.
