The Los Angeles Lakers were taken down by the Phoenix Suns in their second preseason game on Sunday night but there was still cause for celebration.
That’s because, for the first time in NBA history, a father-son duo played with each other on the court.
LeBron James and his son Bronny spent several minutes together during the game and LeBron had a big response about it afterwards.
According to NBA TV, James wrote “WOW THAT WAS SURREAL!!” on social media following the big game.

As expected, LeBron started the preseason game and had a terrific night, even though his team lost.
Then in the second quarter, head coach JJ Redick decided to send Bronny into the game, giving fans a chance to witness history in the making.
LeBron and Bronny played alongside each other but didn’t connect for any explosive work together.
Still, it was wildly exciting and surreal for everyone, not just LeBron.
The night was even more special because it happened to be Bronny’s 20th birthday.
However, he didn’t score a single basket, although he grabbed two rebounds.
As for his father, he was explosive and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 16 minutes.
The Lakers lost the game but there were a few things to be hopeful about, including the performances of LeBron and Anthony Davis.
Now fans will wait to see when LeBron and Bronny will join forces during a regular season game.
When that happens, it’ll cause even more headlines no matter how many points Bronny scores.
