The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping to get another strong year out of LeBron James who will be entering his 22nd season in the league.
James may be showing some signs of slowing down, but he clearly still has enough left in the tank to lead a team in the postseason.
For example, James was USA Basketball’s best player throughout their gold medal run in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Heading into the 2024-25 NBA season, James and the Lakers will be looking to compete in the Western Conference though the task will be very difficult given the number of teams also vying for a title.
Los Angeles didn’t make many changes to its roster, instead banking on Anthony Davis and James to carry them to the postseason.
James has earned the respect of his peers throughout the year and new New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns declared him the best player ever via Club Shay Shay.
“Bron’s the best player we’ve ever seen talent-wise,” Towns said. “I think he’s the best player.”

“ Like I said I’m always going to speak what I see with my own two eyes. I can’t speak for everything…but that man Bron different. Man, that man Bron is something special.” pic.twitter.com/SU4V2ktvF9

Towns goes on to explain that James has all the things that the best of the best need, including size, basketball IQ and raw talent.
The GOAT debate in the NBA seems to be based on Michael Jordan and James, though the latter could really cement his case if he manages to capture one more title.
James’s Finals record and team hopping are the two biggest arguments used against him, but there’s no denying all the accomplishments and accolades he’s collected throughout his career.
