Just like some San Francisco 49ers fans were worried about, the so-called Madden Curse claimed another victim.

Christian McCaffrey hasn’t been able to suit up this season, and he’s reportedly dealing with multiple injuries in both legs.

He has been MIA since the start of the season, even traveling to Germany to meet a specialist.

However, even though some thought he could be out for the year, it seems like he could be closer to a return than initially expected.

Talking on FOX Sports, Peter Schrager revealed that the Niners expect him back soon.

Despite being eligible to come off the Injured Reserve (IR) list for their Week 5 divisional matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, Schrager claimed that it wouldn’t be the case, obviously.

They won’t activate him on a short week, either, so he can already be ruled out of Thursday night’s divisional clash with the Seattle Seahawks.

Even so, Schrager believes there’s still a chance that he plays before November.

McCaffrey was fresh off being named Offensive Player of the Year and was deemed the best running back and offensive player in the game by plenty of people, not to mention the fact that thousands of players took him No. 1 overall in their Fantasy Football leagues.

He’s dealt with multiple injuries in the past, so the Niners are doing the right thing by being overly cautious with their superstar, especially after giving him a very lucrative deal.

The game is always more fun with him on the field, so hopefully, it won’t be long before he’s out there.
