The 1977 Denver Broncos had a season for the books.
Their first-ever playoff appearance culminated in a Super Bowl trip, setting the stage for decades of Mile High memories.
Under the guidance of head coach Red Miller, the team stormed to a 12-2 record, powered by the formidable “Orange Crush” defense that became the stuff of legend.
Now, 47 years later, the Broncos are rekindling that spirit at Empower Field.
This Sunday, fans will be treated to a blast from the past as the team unveils its throwback uniforms.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news, sending longtime supporters on a nostalgic journey back to that groundbreaking 1977 season.

The throwback look is a visual feast. Vibrant orange jerseys sport oversized white numbers, accented with Legacy Blue trim.
The pants feature a striking orange-and-Legacy-Blue stripe running down the leg.
But it’s the helmet that might steal the show – the beloved “D” logo adorns a Legacy Blue shell, complemented by a white facemask and bold orange stripe.
Moreover, orange-and-blue striped socks complete the retro ensemble.
Fittingly, the Broncos chose a matchup against their old rivals, the Raiders, to debut these uniforms.
The game carries extra significance, commemorating Denver’s 1977 AFC Championship victory that paved the way to Super Bowl XII.
The day promises more than just a visual throwback. The team will honor Steve Foley and Riley Odoms with Ring of Fame inductions, while Randy Gradishar receives recognition for his Pro Football Hall of Fame nod.
To cap it off, the 1977 Super Bowl squad will be saluted, bridging past glories with present-day aspirations.
As the current Broncos don these classic threads, they’ll carry the weight of history and the hopes of a fanbase eager to recapture that “Orange Crush” magic.
