The Philadelphia Eagles are facing a rough patch, and the heat is on head coach Nick Sirianni.
With a 2-2 record and losses in 10 of their last 13 games, including a bruising 33-16 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4, questions are swirling about Sirianni’s future.
While the front office hasn’t shown signs of pulling the plug yet, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd isn’t ruling out the possibility.
On a recent episode of “The Herd” podcast, Cowherd didn’t mince words:
“It’s time to go get an adult coach who’s won, who’s proven, who’s a veteran. And for the record, I could see Philadelphia moving off Sirianni in two weeks. Seriously, that’s what they do. They’ve moved off Super Bowl-winning coaches.”

Cowherd’s take isn’t entirely unfounded. The Eagles have a history of impatience, famously parting ways with Doug Pederson shortly after he led the team to Super Bowl glory.
This track record adds weight to Cowherd’s speculation.
The analyst went further, labeling the Eagles a “disaster” without former offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, now leading the Indianapolis Colts.
Cowherd painted a picture of Sirianni as a coach out of his depth, describing him as “completely over his skis.”
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We’re only four weeks into a long NFL season, with nearly four months of football still to play.
While some are already floating names like Bill Belichick as potential replacements, it’s far too early to predict Sirianni’s fate or the Eagles’ next move.
The coming weeks will be crucial for Sirianni and his team. If they can turn things around, all this speculation might fade away.
But in the high-stakes world of the NFL, where patience is often in short supply, Sirianni will need to show results – and fast.
