The 2024 NFL season is in full effect as several teams have already begun to separate themselves, but things are also starting to heat up in college football.

There are numerous prospects across the nation who are must-see television, but Colorado might have the most exciting player in college right now in Travis Hunter.

Hunter has led the Buffaloes on both sides of the field, establishing himself as a rare two-way superstar.

What makes Hunter so great is that he plays the majority of snaps on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and cornerback, excelling at both positions.

With that supreme unique skill set, Hunter is a lock to go very early in the 2025 NFL Draft, though it remains to be seen if a team will continue to allow him to work as a receiver and defensive back.

Former NFL star Cam Newton has been very impressed with what he’s seen from Hunter and explained why he has him as his Heisman Trophy pick for this season.

“I was saying this two weeks ago, and I hate to be that guy: Travis Hunter is the first player to take a hold of college football,” Newton said, via “4thand1show.” “He’s the first player since Johnny Manziel.”

Hunter is a generational talent who makes headlines every week, and Newton brings up a good point when comparing him to Manziel, who like Netwon was an electric quarterback and a Heisman Trophy winner during his college days.

Hunter has built the same level of hype, and though he might not win the Heisman, there’s no doubting his ability on the field.
