The Houston Texans are looking to put a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3 deep into the rearview mirror and get back into the win column against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4.

If all goes according to plan, the Texans could have a key player back, as one star was spotted on the practice field after missing the game against the Vikings.

Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston shared video of running back Joe Mixon at practice, his first since leaving the Week 2 win against the Chicago Bears with an ankle injury.

It’s a great sign for the Texans to have their No. 1 RB in action as the offense has put up just 26 points in two games in his absence.

Mixon went off in Week 1 and torched the Indianapolis Colts for 159 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries in the 29-27 victory.

It’s Mixon’s first season with Houston after playing his first seven for the Cincinnati Bengals, where he posted four 1,000-yard seasons and ran for 49 touchdowns.

Houston’s run game ground to a halt without Mixon at Minnesota, with Cam Akers filling in with just nine carries for 21 yards.

Akers and Dare Ogunbowale combined for just 35 rushing yards on nine carries in Week 2 against the Bears after Mixon went down, so the Texans would benefit significantly from their starter being able to step back into his workhorse role.

Keep an eye out for more updates on Mixon’s ankle, as he is trending toward playing in the AFC South showdown.
